Rebecca and Simon Wedding | Markovina Vineyard Estate
I recently had the honor of documenting the love story of Rebecca and Simon at Markovina Vineyard Estate. Nestled in the heart of Kumeu, New Zealand, this venue holds a special place in my portfolio, with each wedding offering a unique and meaningful experience. Witnessing Rebecca and Simon’s deep devotion to God and the significance of faith in their lives was truly inspiring. Their profound love was palpable to everyone in attendance. The wedding exuded a formal and traditional theme, interwoven with touches of romance and candid moments.
Rebecca and Simon’s journey traces back to Sunday School where they used to be childhood crushes. Through the years, this evolved into a mature and purposeful connection guided by faith. Their shared pursuit of joining the Police Force became the catalyst for their romantic love story, culminating in an engagement under the shade of trees at Sanders Reserve on the 24th of December, 2021.
On their wedding day, Rebecca and Simon opted for a unique “First Touch” instead of the traditional “First Look”. Stunning floral arrangements crafted by the talented Floralessence adorned the venue, and the ceremony was led by the charismatic celebrant Peter Brookes. A symbolic foot washing took place, symbolizing the couple’s commitment to serving each other as their first act as a married couple.
The heartfelt prayers and congratulations seamlessly carried into the reception, where a buffet-style feast awaited. The first dance was set to Celine Dion’s “The Power of Love” which was simply beautiful. After the speeches, the couple presented thoughtful gifts for their parents, and ended the night with overflowing love and warmth.
