Harry and Becky’s Wedding Celebration
Last year, I had the pleasure of capturing the beautiful wedding of Harry and Becky at their stunning backyard located in the northern part of Whananaki. Harry and Becky opted for a simple and comfortable setting, with DIY elements scattered throughout the venue. They were looking forward to simply bringing their loved ones together to celebrate. It was meaningful to have their closest friend Jackson Keet beautifully officiate their wedding. Their adorable 2-year old daughter Celeste was present and made the celebration all the more special. And we can’t forget their dog Mac who lit up the faces of everyone he encountered. Throughout the day, we jammed to their favourite tunes such as All I Do by Stevie Wonder and Real Love by Mary J Blige.
What made this wedding even more unique was the groom’s involvement in the food preparation. Being a cook himself, Harry took up the challenge of handling the big task of feeding their guests. Truly, this gesture made everyone feel more at home. Another thing that stood out to me during this wedding was the absence of seating plans. Instead, guests mingled freely, finding their own comfortable spots to enjoy the celebration. This created a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, were people could truly let loose and have a good time.
These intimate and relaxed gatherings are not only budget-friendly but also have a personal touch that no other venue can offer. The simplicity of the decorations and elements only highlighted the meaningful conversations exchanged, and the love and joy shared. Backyard weddings truly have a certain charm that can’t be replicated in any other setting, and it is my privilege to be a part of these special moments.
