This European-inspired elopement at Tantalus Estate was created to feel a little different from the wedding editorials we see everywhere. I wanted the shoot to feel romantic, elevated and luxurious, but also unexpected, with a rich maroon and blue colour palette replacing the more familiar soft whites, greens and neutrals. Tantalus Estate provided the perfect sophisticated backdrop, but I wanted to bring a fresh energy to the space through thoughtful styling, texture and colour.
From the oversized bow on the classic car and the dramatic trailing ribbon on the bouquet to pearls, cherries, shells and playful details, every element was chosen with intention. I loved mixing elegant, high-end details with unexpected touches to create something that felt fashion-forward without losing the romance of an elopement. The result was an editorial-style wedding that felt European, moody, refined and full of personality.
As a Sydney and Australia wedding photographer, I love creating imagery that feels timeless but never too predictable. This Tantalus Estate elopement was all about showing how beautiful wedding photography can be when we step outside the usual colour palettes and styling and create something that feels genuinely unique to the couple.
