A New York Jazz Bar Wedding at Spicers Guesthouse

There was something so incredibly special about Amy & Matt’s Spicers Guesthouse wedding in the Hunter Valley. Amy designed and planned the whole day herself, bringing their New York jazz bar vision to life with black velvet lounges, white armchairs, softly lit rooms and live music from Breeze Jazz. Canapés and drinks flowed all night, finished with late-night pizza, and every detail felt as thoughtful and personal as Matt’s proposal at home, surrounded by rose petals, flowers and candles. Amy had always described their wedding as simple, intentional and people-focused, and that’s exactly what it was.

Beyond the styling, it was the people who made the day unforgettable. From the emotional speeches to fun, beautiful moments with their gorgeous little boy, there was so much love in the room, and you could feel how special Amy and Matt’s relationship is to everyone around them. As a Sydney wedding photographer and Hunter Valley wedding photographer, these are the moments I treasure most, and we feel so honoured to have captured this chapter as Amy & Matt begin the next part of their journey together.
