Some love stories seem to have a way of finding you, no matter how long it takes.
Alex actually met Olivia’s parents before he met her. While sitting next to them at a work dinner in Fiji, Olivia’s mum came home and told her, “I met the perfect man for you.” Six months later, Olivia had returned to New Zealand after living in Fiji, and by chance, she met Alex at Shy Guy. They talked for hours and felt an instant connection.
Four months later, they unexpectedly crossed paths again. The chemistry was still there. After a nine-month wait from their first encounter, Alex finally messaged Olivia and they went on their first date. Six months later, they bought a house together. Three years after that, they were getting married.
Alex proposed on Christmas morning in Scotland, taking Olivia to the beach at Elie for a beautiful sunrise. His family secretly watched from the house, making the moment even more special.
Their wedding at Ayrburn was everything they wanted: warm, relaxed and completely personal. With just 34 of their closest family and friends, they could slow down, enjoy every conversation and truly be present.
Alex’s Scottish heritage was woven throughout the day, from his family tartan and kilt to the bagpipes and traditional Scottish dancing. Sunshine, beautiful views, heartfelt speeches and plenty of laughter made the celebration feel effortless.
And then came the dancing. The night ended with everyone on the dance floor, celebrating together in the most joyful way.
A timeless celebration for Alex & Olivia — full of family, love, Scottish traditions and unforgettable moments. What a beautiful way to wrap up the season. 🤍
